Real Housewives of New York

Did Sonja Morgan Just Admit That Her RHONY Friendships are Fake?

We’ve always wondered if the The Real Housewives of New York castmates would ever hang out with each other if they weren’t professionally obligated to for the sake of filming. In other words, would these women really be friends off-camera?

Judging by Sonja Morgan’s recent interview with OK! magazine, it doesn’t sound like it! When asked if she ever sees the other Housewives in her free time, Sonja said, “When I’m not filming, I like to spend time with the friends I don’t film with, and spend more time on my businesses and finances and personal affairs.”

Ouch! It’s strange to think how close Sonja and her on-screen BFF Ramona Singer seem on the show, after hearing how rarely they see each other IRL. Does that mean their friendship is phony?

Then again, those two always have a hoot and a holler when they hang out, whether they’re sharing some Turtle Time in the Caribbean or just dancing with drag queens at a charity event. That kind of kinship can’t really be faked, don’t you agree?

The Real Housewives of New York airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
