Sean told the site he brought his bible and devotional with him while on The Bachelorette. He said out of the 25 guys there were maybe three "believers" in the house, but every so often he'd read aloud and guys would come up to him and ask about it, so he had a chance to share his faith.
How is his heart doing now, a couple of months after Emily dumped him? "I'm doing great,” he said. “My heart's doing great and I appreciate all the people that honestly care about that. I think the main thing that's helped me get through this is just my faith in Christ and knowing when all this happened, as shocked as I was, and as heartbroken as I was, I knew God has a plan for me and this isn't it."
The morning of the overnight dates rose ceremony, he was convinced he was going to marry Emily. He had the first date of that week and after his date he spent the week hanging out on the beach, waiting for the rose ceremony. "The entire time I was on the beach I was thinking about our life together, I was thinking about being a stepfather, I was thinking about all these things. Never once did it cross my mind that I wouldn't get a rose." He was excited to be a stepdad; Emily being a single mom to Ricki was far from a “deal breaker” for him — if anything it made Em more attractive. He said he loved Ricki without even meeting her.
The morning of the rose ceremony he was journaling some prayers instead of saying them out loud. Sean said he wrote, "’Lord, thank you so much for all the blessings — and if this is not your will, let me know.' And he answered that loud and clear! And, sure, I still experienced heartbreak and it was still shocking for me, but at the end of the day I know that the Lord has bigger and better things for me and this wasn't it. I think that, more than anything else, helped me cope through this whole process."
There’s a lot more to the video and you can watch it here on the ministry site. By the way, he addresses the idea of being The Bachelor again, but completely shoots down the idea of ever doing Bachelor Pad. Not his speed.
