Another Fake Kate Middleton Cover! Magazines Can’t Help Themselves Anymore

If you want Kate Middleton on the cover of your magazine, and she won't pose for you, you can either dip into an archive of old photos or create a brand new one using Photoshop. A second magazine in a month has decided to go with the latter approach.

The New Republic currently has a satire cover showing Kate with rotten teeth and Marie Claire South Africa has decided they too would like to adjust the Duchess of Cambridge's image.

According to E!, Marie Claire's art department took Kate's head and hands and put them onto a fashion model's body.

"We were so inspired by her fairytale wedding and her life as a modern-day princess, which is why we elected Kate Middleton as our cover star for the August issue," editor Aspasia Karras told The Telegraph of the U.K.. "The cover is actually a hyper-real illustration of Kate, meant to be a fan art tribute to fashion's new royal icon."

Marie Claire’s headline reads "Fan art tribute: Kate Middleton fashion's new royal icon wears SA's best local designs*" with the asterisk at the bottom of the cover reading "Of course she doesn't. But she should."

As The Telegraph's headline puts it, "Can't get a royal cover star? Just make one up like Marie Claire South Africa, whose Duchess of Cambridge cover is not quite as it seems."

As they noted, Kate is a steady victim/beneficiary of Photoshopping. After her wedding, UK Grazia magazine cut Prince William out of the cover shot and took about six inches off Kate's waist in the process.

What do you think? Is it totally fine to take the Duchess’s image and just play around with it for a cover shot or is it misleading people and misrepresenting Kate’s image to sell magazines?
