Joseph Gordon-Levitt Rips Into GQ Writer For Misrepresenting His Brother’s 2010 Death
Dark Knight Rises star Joseph Gordon-Levitt is currently heating up the August 2012 issue of GQ, but he’s not entirely happy with the magazine’s profile article.
In the piece, writer Amy Wallace describes the 2010 death of Joseph’s older brother Dan as “an alleged drug overdose.” Upon seeing that, the 31-year-old actor took to his Tumblr to refute what he terms an “irresponsible” statement. “It really made me feel terrible,” he explains.
“Using the word ‘alleged’ technically allows the writer to say whatever she wants,” he writes. “The ‘allegations’ to which she must be referring were made by a handful of gossip websites. They are factually incorrect according to the coroner’s office and the police department.”
He goes on to add that while he detailed his brother’s rich life and personality during the interview, the writer chose instead to lavish focus on his death. “My parents and I are disappointed with what the article chose to focus on regarding this sensitive subject,” he concludes.
Of course, none of this changes the fact that JGL looks smokin’-hot on the cover of the issue.
