DWTS’ Tom Bergeron Reacts to His 2012 Emmy Nomination
This is it — 2012 is the first year someone other than Jeff Probst will win Outstanding Host for Reality or Reality Competition Program.
The Survivor host wasn’t even nominated this time around. Our beloved Tom Bergeron of Dancing With the Stars was nominated, as he has been every year since the category was introduced in 2008.
Tom reacted with his usual dry humor, tweeting “Emmy Prediction: Probst will still find a way to win this thing!”
Perhaps! But no, now is the time for Tom to take the throne. Or so we hope. We’ve beenwaiting for Tom to finally win an Emmy but, this year, he’s not only up against the usual Emmy suspects, he must take down Betty White! Since she’s the most popular person on the planet, that could be an issue.
Here are the four hosts Tom must conquer in September when the Emmy winners are announced:
• Cat Deeley, So You Think You Can Dance • Phil Keoghan, The Amazing Race • Ryan Seacrest, American Idol • Betty White, Betty White's Off Their Rockers
Tom has campaigned before for Cat Deeley, but the two-nights-a-week, two-seasons-a-year, totally LIVE aspect of DWTS should really cinch the deal. #TeamTom FTW!
Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays and Tuesdays onABC.
