3. Ezra Fitz Why he might be “A”: There has been talk that Aria is “A,” since she’s never been really hurt by “A” and hasn’t been visited by Ali. But maybe Aria hasn’t been hurt by “A” because Ezra(Ian Harding) is “A”! We’d hate to think so, but Ezra clearly got that sock-drawer money via questionable means (possibly from Jason?), not to mention that his hair matches the hair Emily (Shay Mitchell) saw at the diner. Plus, Ezra seems to love cameras. So we’re hoping he’s not “A,” but on this show, you never know!
Why he might not be “A”: For starters, Ezra probably isn’t “A” because he’s freakin’ Ezra, and the guy is amazing. ‘Nuff said! We just can’t imagine him stalking Aria and her friends, let alone that it’s hard to imagine a connection between him and Ali. So we’re just gonna hope that Ezra got that money in an embarrassing-but-legal way, like by betting at the dog track or something.
2. Holden Strauss Why he might be “A”: He’s back, and he may have been with Emily “that night,” given that his eye stamp matched one that Em saw. And we wonder if the eye is a connection to the N.A.T. Club, which “sees all,” or possibly to the line about “A” having “pretty eyes”? Also, Holden’s penchant for pill-popping has us thinking he may have drugged Emily. Well done, Holden — most characters need three or four episodes to do as many suspicious things as you did in just one.
Why he might not be: We still don’t know of any connection between Ali and Holden, and he barely seems to know the other Liars (besides Aria). In fact, it’s possible that Holden isn’t “A” but is at least involved in the big picture, like maybe he was Maya’s secret boyfriend. If so, Maya definitely liked the athletic types.
1. Alison Dilaurentis Why she might be “A”: We got a potentially big clue this week about Ali having a twin, as Jason mentioned to Mr. Hastings that he knows he has “more than one sister.” Sure, this could be his half-sisters, but we’re thinking he means Ali and her twin. We’re also thinking it was Ali or her twin who would have convinced Ian to start the N.A.T. club, as Jason suggests. So this is the one time when being an aspiring filmmaker is not a good thing.
Why she might not be “A”: The text that Spencer gets at the end makes it seem that “A” wants Garrett to go free, but we’re not sure why Ali would want Garrett free, since we don’t really picture them as being particularly close. And this might be a minor point, but we kind of have a hard time picturing Ali or her twin relaxing over a bowl of rainbow sherbet. Just doesn’t seem right!
