Joseph Gordon-Levitt Apologizes For Saying Most Pretty Girls Aren’t Funny: Faith Restored!

For a man who has a feminist take on Little Red Riding Hood, Joseph Gordon-Levitt certainly had some explaining to do after saying “most pretty girls aren’t funny” at the Looper Comic-Con panel last weekend. Luckily, Yahoo! spoke to Mr. JGL, and he clarified his comments.

In an attempt to compliment his Looper co-star Emily Blunt, Joseph said he liked her sense of humor and was impressed because “most pretty girls aren’t funny.” Ouchie. “I did misspeak,” he later told Yahoo! “I think what I was trying to get at was, in our culture, girls do tend to get pigeonholed … [Emily Blunt] really succeeded in avoiding those traps and not getting pigeonholed,” he added.

Appropriately chagrined, the curse was broken and Joseph Gordon-Levitt quickly transformed back into the magical unicorn he has always been.
