Ryan Seacrest Scores a 2012 Emmy Nomination, But American Idol Gets Snubbed

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest has been honored with a 2012 Primetime Emmy nomination for his hosting duties on the show. The rest of the Idol team, however, was snubbed in the reality competition category.

Yep, Ryan scored a nomination for Best Reality Host — alongside Cat Deeley for So You Think You Can Dance, Phil Keoghan for The Amazing Race, Betty White for Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, and Tom Bergeron for Dancing With the Stars — but the show itself didn't get much love from the Emmys this year.

Aside from Ryan's nod, Idol was also nominated in two technical categories: Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction For a Variety Series - Finale and Outstanding Sound Mixing For a Variety or Special.

However, the show's big competitor, The Voice, did get a nomination for Best Reality-Competition Program.
