Aurora, Colorado, Dark Knight Rises Shooting: Celebrities Tweet Their Shock and Sadness
At a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, Colorado, on Friday, a gunman opened fire, killing 12 and wounding at least 59 people. The tragedy shocked and saddened the nation, and outpourings of grief, condolences, and confusion have come from all over the US.
Many Hollywood stars took to Twitter to express their sympathy for the victims and their families, as well as the Colorado town. Filmmaker Michael Moore, who wrote and directed Bowling For Columbine — a documentary about the school shooting at Columbine High School —tweeted, “Too sad at the moment to comment.” Other celebrities, such as Eva Longoria, Jessica Simpson, and Leonard Nimoy, simply wished to offer their thoughts and prayers to those affected by the shooting.
