The Spice Girls to Reunite For 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony: Girl Power!
This is perfect, because our lives could use a little extra spice — specifically in Ginger, Baby, Sporty, Scary, and Posh form.
With ’70s, ’80s, and ’90s groups like the Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, No Doubt, Fleetwood Mac, and Run-D.M.C. coming back together for everything from a new album to an isolated performance, a Spice Girls reunion pretty much seemed inevitable. And now it’s happening, people: The five ladies are becoming one once again.
Us Weekly reports that Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice), Melanie Brown (Scary Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice) are going to perform two of their hit singles, including the ever-popular “Wannabe,” at the August 12 closing ceremony for the London Olympics.
