Bristol Palin’s 3-Year-Old Son Says “F—” on TV, But It’s Better Than What They Thought He Said
It's not easy being a 3-year-old on reality TV.
Bristol Palin's son, Tripp, could give Suri Cruise a run for her Crankypants money, but it’s understandable given the spotlight they've both been put under. On a recent episode of Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, Tripp yelled at his aunt Willow, “Go away, you [bleep]!" He also repeatedly told both her and his mom that he hated them. Bristol acknowledged in the episode that she's doing a terrible job disciplining Tripp and she knows he's just going to keep pushing boundaries.
Lifetime bleeped out Tripp’s f-bomb, but to many people it sounded like he used an anti-gay slur.
Louis Peitzman of Gawker wrote, "Look, kids say the darndest things, and it's kind of funny when a child curses. But there's a difference between a precocious utterance of 'f-ck' and a homophobic slur. The complete lack of shame is especially embarrassing given that there were cameras filming it all — gay-friendly Lifetime cameras, no less. Hmm, I wonder where Tripp learned to use 'f-ggot' as an insult."
However, the story was updated to include a note from Life's a Tripp showrunner Matt Lutz, who said he was in the room at the time and reviewed the raw footage several times and insisted Tripp's f-bomb was "f-ck" and not "f-ggot."
Either way, when a 3-year-old starts dropping any f-bomb available — and lashes out against family members — maybe it’s time to take him away from the cameras. It doesn’t sound like Tripp is ready to deal with the political nitpicking quite yet.
