Pretty Little Liars

Is Showrunner Marlene King Going to Leave Pretty Little Liars for Her New Show, Now & Then?

Pretty Little Liars showrunner Marlene King is currently working on developing a new project for ABC Family, a TV version of the classic '90s coming-of-age flick Now & Then, which she wrote. This is exciting news, but it leaves some fans worried that Marlene might jump ship from PLL to the new project.

But never fear, PLL fans: Marlene plans to stay faithful to her first show.

A fan recently asked Marlene via Twitter, "Can you work both PLL and The Now & Then series at the same time?"

Marlene replied, "that's the plAn."

Heading up two shows might seem like a lot, but Marlene would be far from the first showrunner to tackle that task. For example, TV bigwig Shonda Rhimes is currently the showrunner on not two but three shows: Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal. If Shonda can do it, so can Marlene!

Catch an all-new episode of PLL on Tuesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family..
