The Bachelorette’s Jef Holm on Whether or Not He’s Mormon and How Faith Fits Into His Life
What does it even mean to be half Mormon? Never mind, no need to worry about it right now 'cause Jef Holm is not half Mormon. The Bachelorette Season 8 winner — and Emily Maynard's husband-to-be — clarified his religious beliefs on last week's media conference call, dispelling a misperception about his faith.
"I'm not half Mormon,” Jef explains. “I was raised Mormon. And my family is still Mormon. My parents are serving in a Mormon mission as Mission presidents in South Carolina. And I was raised with the standards of Mormonism in the church. ... And I'm just not practicing right now. I'm still, you know, really — I mean, faith is something that's a huge priority on my list and in my life. And I'm really active, you know, in church and everything. I'm just not active Mormon."
So he doesn’t strictly follow the tenets of The LDS Church. Emily is strong in her Christian faith — do you think it’s a good thing to her that Jef comes from such a religious background, or not a good thing since she doesn’t have the same Mormon background? Or not really relevant to her at all?
