Glee Season 4: Puck’s Younger Brother Has an Attitude Problem
It’s no shocker that Puck’s (Mark Salling) younger half-brother will be a bit of a bad boy, much like his big bro. But who knew that the actor playing Little Puck would be a highly trained dancer? As it turns out, Jacob Artist— who will be playing Jake Puckerman— has studied dance since he was a kid and is hoping to showcase his moves on the show. Looks like Brittany (Heather Morris) just got a new dance partner!
However, Jake definitely sounds a bit more like Channing Tatum circa Step Up than just a curly-haired replacement for now-graduated Mike(Harry Shum Jr.).
Jacob tells The Hollywood Reporter that his character will be “a bad boy with a bit of an attitude.” In fact, Jake’s attitude appears to be so bad that it might be what “gets in the way of him succeeding with the glee club.” Then again, if Puck can learn to be a team player, we figure that there’s hope for anyone!
Not surprisingly, it’s been a crazy past few weeks for Jacob, as you might imagine. The 19-year-old says he didn’t even audition for the show until “two and a half to three weeks ago.” He then had to prepare five songs for the audition, including “Never Say Never” by The Fray — which he’s hoping to sing on the show — and “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me” by Elton John. Then, last week he was had to audition for Ryan Murphy and a bunch of Fox executives. Talk about pressure!
And now to the most important question: Will Puck 2.0 have a mohawk or not? Jacob says he hasn’t heard anything about Jake’s follicular choices, but he thinks it might be “fun” to try a new hairstyle for a change.

Producer Ian Brennan also talked with The Hollywood Reporter about the new Puckerman character, saying that Jake Puckerman won’t have as much in common with his big brother as you might think. Ian says that Jake will be “vastly different from any character we've had on the show in a really interesting and surprising way.” We wonder what that could mean!
And Ian sounds very excited to have Jacob on the show, saying that “we might have a star on our hands.” Awesome! Uh, any chance we can just start the new season today? September is too freakin’ far away!
