Kristen Stewart Apologizes For Cheating on Robert Pattinson — the “Person I Love and Respect the Most”

Kristen Stewart is owning up to her mistake.

Just one day after Us Weekly released photos of Kristen Stewart canoodling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, the 22-year-old actress has released a public apology regarding her regrettable actions. At the center of her statement is her boyfriend of three years, Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson.

"I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she said (via People).

This scandalous news comes on the heels of reports that the two were shopping for engagement rings. In the April issue of Vanity Fair (via Us Weekly), Rob explained, "I'm not the casual-affair kind of guy. If I choose to be with someone, it's because I really want it. When I have a relationship, I'm 100 percent into it."

Rupert followed up Kristen's heartfelt statement with his own: "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," the 41-year-old British director tells People. "My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Liberty Ross, Rupert’s wife and the mother of his two children, issued her own one-word reaction on Twitter yesterday (via Us Weekly) before deleting her account: “Wow.”
