Dancing With The Stars

When Will the DWTS Season 15 All-Stars Pro Partners Be Announced?

Torture! We were really hoping the professional dancers would be announced today when (most of) the rest of the cast for Dancing With the Stars All-Stars Season 15 was revealed. Instead, ABC not only gave us a homework assignment to vote for the 13th contestant, we have to wait more than two weeks for the official announcement on the celeb/pro partnerships.

According to this Good Morning America report, "Paul Lee, president of the ABC Entertainment Group, announced the new cast at the Television Critics Association conference. The alumni's professional partners were not announced, but will be revealed Monday, August 13 on Good Morning America."

Well, that does explain why Cheryl Burke just tweeted, “So happy to see I have 3 of my partners on for All-Stars! @thedrewlachey, @EmmittSmith22 and @GillesMarini. Wonder who I will get??!!!” Even she doesn’t know yet! But at least she knows she’s coming back. And didn’t she say she’d only come back if she could dance with Gilles Marini?

Mark Ballas also has two contestants returning, potentially three if Sabrina Bryan is the “Viewers Choice.” Maksim Chmerkovskiy has Kirstie Alley, so they are all set, yes? (Sorry, Mel B! We’ll miss you.) Kym Johnson danced with Joey Fatone, so maybe they will repair them. Same for Tony Dovolani and Melissa Rycroft.

Heaven only knows what’s going to happen to Helio Castroneves and Apolo Anton Ohno since they both won with Julianne Hough, who is currently shooting a movie in North Carolina. She hasn’t competed on DWTS since Season 8. Will she be back to dance with one of them? If not, will Peta Murgatroyd, Chelsie Hightower, Lacey Schwimmer or Anna Trebunskaya dance with them, if Lacey doesn’t end up busy with Kyle Massey or Anna with Carson Kressley?

What about Pamela Anderson? She danced with Damian Whitewood the first time, so is Damian coming back or will she be re-assigned one of the “newer” pros like Val Chmerkovskiy or Tristan MacManus? Same question for Kelly Monaco, who won with Alec Mazo. Is he coming back or will Val/Tristan be split between Kelly and Pam?

Since Cheryl and Mark can’t dance with all of their past partners, they will have to be split up. We’re guessing Cheryl will be with Gilles, then Emmitt Smith and Drew Lachey will go to whichever lady pros aren’t dancing with Helio or Apolo. That should cover enough bases for all the most recent female pros to have a partner, unless Julianne does return.

Mark … it’s hard to say. Maybe Mark will get Shawn again, then Bristol — oh what a shame Maks is already taken! — maybe Bristol will get Derek Hough, since he needs a partner. And if ever any pro was up for the challenge of actually making Bristol a great dancer instead of just a successful one, it’s Derek. She could be his swan song!

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
