ANTM Cycle 19: College Edition: Do We Already Know Who Gets Eliminated First?
Are you ready for the brand new, super-charged season of America's Next Top Model? As a new press release from the CW details, Cycle 19 will be its first-ever College Edition, featuring 13 modelstants who are all currently enrolled in a college or university. As we’ve reported, recently fired judge Nigel Barker and the “two Jays,” J. Alexander and Jay Manuel, have been replaced by a slew of new “top fashion talent.”
Rob Evans, former boxer and successful model (also Tyra Banks’s rumored boyfriend), will take his seat at the judges’ panel, joining Tyra and Kelly Cutrone. The invisible fourth judge will be the viewers, who have spent the summer voting on the modelstants’ many photo shoots. Below is one of the girls’ shoots, where the models pose with the official ANTM fragrance, Dream Come True.
Celebrity stylist Jonny Wujek joins the cast as “photo shoot creative consultant,” and fashion blogger Bryanboy will be ANTM’s “first-ever social media correspondent.” Bryanboy will serve as the modelstants’ guide through their online feedback, including “comments and video messages from the viewers that will be revealed in the show during judging.”
Our question is: Who is this mysterious 13th contestant the press release mentions? Throughout the summer, we’ve voted and showcased the many photo shoots featuring 12 models. But based on the fact that the first-ever photo shoot featured 13 girls, and the following week, when the modelstants posed topless with Rob, there were only 12, it seems pretty obvious which model will get eliminated first.
Maria, who is a student at Harvard’s Divinity School, disappeared from the lineup after Week 1. Has the first elimination been spoiled? Maybe. Our first guess is that Maria drops out because of the common objection to posing nude or even semi-nude. We’ll be watching the first few episodes with this in mind.
