Glee’s Season 4 Britney Spears Tribute Had Lea Michele “Laughing Hysterically”
Oops, Glee’s doing it again! The show is delivering another Britney Spears tribute as its second episode in Season 4, and with everything we’re hearing about it, the episode promises to be as amazing as the first one. We should be so “lucky”!
So what can we expect? We haven’t yet heard any confirmed song titles, but Chord Overstreet (Sam) did let an intriguing hint slip to E! Online. Chord says he was recently in the studio working on “one of her most recent singles,” and that it will be a “little group number” and a “really cool version of it.” Hmmm!
So which song could Chord be referring to? We’re thinking that it would have to be a single off her most recent album, 2011’s Femme Fatale, and that album’s two biggest singles were “Hold It Against Me” or “Till the World Ends.” If you ask us, either one would be an awesome choice for the show!
The first Britney episode focused on Glee’s own Brittany S. Pierce, which will also be the case for the Season 4 go-around. “Heather Morris — it’s all for her character, Brittany, again,” Lea Michele(Rachel) tells E! Online. We can’t wait, since we can never get enough Brittany! Perhaps Brittany will feel, since she’s stuck in high school for another year, that she’s “not a girl, not yet a woman”? We shall see.
We can assume that the tribute episode will be mighty sexy, as the first one was, but we’re also hearing that we should expect plenty of laughs, too. Lea says that when she first read the script, she was “laughing hysterically.” She even texted creator Ryan Murphy at the time, telling him, “‘You’ve got to be kidding me!’” Sounds like we’re in for some surprises.
All we know is, the suspense is driving us crazy — but it feels alright! Glee, thinkin’ of you keeps us up all night.
