Pretty Little Liars Spoiler: Has Ezra Been Hiding Something All Along?

Many fans have grown suspicious of Ezra (Ian Harding) in recent episodes, and as much as we hate to say it, we have to agree that he's been acting a bit off. We certainly don't buy his story about how he got his cash.

Has Ezra been hiding something from the start of his relationship with Aria (Lucy Hale), or is his sketchy behavior the result of a recent change? A new tweet from showrunner Marlene King seems to suggest an answer.

"Tonight you meet Ezra's mom, Diane," Marlene tweeted this morning (July 31) in referance to tonight's episode, Season 3, Episode 8: “Stolen Kisses”. "You also find out what he's been hiding from Aria since day one of Ezria."

Whoa! It sounds like Ezra is just as much of a liar as everyone else on this show. But is he covering up a super dirty secret, or will the reveal be something more innocuous?

According to E! Ezra's mother is "extremely wealthy," and we've never really associated Ezra with money. We also know that Ezra has actually truncated his name from Fitzgerald to Fitz. Maybe he has a history of family strife.

That would explain why he goes by a different name and normally doesn't flaunt his money — indeed, we wouldn't be surprised if he was trying to make it on his own. The cash in his sock drawer could be a loan from his family, or maybe he earned it by selling something valuable his family gave to him; in that case, perhaps he made up the story about his car because he's ashamed of having to fall back on his family's money.

On the other hand, maybe something darker is going on. What do you think?
