Did Shanna Really Deserve to Go Home on The Glee Project Season 2, Episode 9: “Romanitcality”?

No one seemed to expect Shanna Henderson, Aylin Bayramoglu, and Blake Jenner to be in the bottom three on this week’s Glee Project Season 2, Episode 9: "Romanticality" — least of all Shanna, Aylin, and Blake!

Yet there they were: all three frontrunners, standing on stage, ready to perform for Ryan Murphy. Each of them gave strong — but not quite blow-your-socks-off level — performance, so in the end, it really seemed to come down to which of the three would make the best character on Glee.

There’s basically no one else like Aylin on TV right now, and the opportunity for Glee to portray a confident young Muslim girl who is not a stereotype seem likes too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Charming, charismatic, and friendly, Blake has more or less been the golden boy of the competition. He’d fit in on Glee as a new jock at school almost flawlessly.

Shanna, on the other hand, wasn’t quite able to articulate just what she could bring to the table that would make her Glee character really stand out — and she was the one who was ultimately sent home.

Do you think that the mentors made the right call, or are you still in shock that Shanna was sent packing her very first week in the bottom three, and having received almost no criticism whatsoever the entire competition? Head to the poll below and sound off.
