Who Will Be the New Star of Glee’s New Directions? It’s Not Who You Think!

Do you have a guess as to who will step up to be the new star of New Directions when Glee returns for Season 4? Well, your guess is probably wrong! (No offense.)

With New Directions having lost so many key members, one of its first tasks will be to find someone who can take over Rachel’s (Lea Michele) role as lead vocalist. According to E! Online, when it comes to who will be the new star of the group, “fans are in for a surprise.” Say what?

So just what does that mean? Well, E! isn’t offering up much else in the line of clues. Well, they will confirm that the star won’t be Brittany (Heather Morris), but you didn’t have to be a fortune teller to see that one coming.

What we’re wondering now: Does this mean that gasp! Blaine (Darren Criss) won’t be the new star? When we asked who you thought should be the new lead vocalist, almost half of you voted for the former Warbler. However, that means that his selection as the star wouldn’t really come as a “surprise,” right?

So who would be a surprise? Well, Sugar (Vanessa Lengies) would be totally out-of-left-field, but that would be all kinds of insane. Maybe Unique (Alex Newell) will transfer and steal the spotlight? Or perhaps it will be one of this season’s newbies, like Puck’s little bro, Jake (Jacob Artist) or the soon-to-be-announced Glee Project Season 2 winner? Guess we’ll have to be patient and wait. (Ugh — isn’t being patient, like, the worst?)

So who do you think it is now, given this new sliver of information?
