Dancing With The Stars

DWTS All-Stars: Joey Fatone Won’t Take Things Too Seriously … Except His Plan to Win

In the beginning, they all say they're just going to have fun on Dancing With the Stars. It's no big deal. It’s just entertainment.

But everyone ends up feeling the competitive spirit on DWTS, and that should be especially true for the Season 15: All-Stars — and especially especially true for runners-up like Season 4's Joey Fatone. As Season 2 champion Drew Lachey noted, the old second-place dancers will be the ones to watch this season because they'll be hungriest to win.

Keep that in mind as Joey tells People magazine, "I'm not going to take stuff too seriously. Dancing is supposed to be fun and have emotion. I'm just going to be myself — that's all I can be."

Joey and Kym Johnson lost the Season 4 Mirror Ball trophies to Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough — and Apolo is back again, with great odds to win. Joey said he bonded with everyone last time and he's ready for another great experience. "The worst part is the long rehearsal hours," he said. "But I like pushing myself and hanging out with the other cast members."

Still, he has his eyes on the prize. "I came in second the last time," Joey said. "Now I want to win."

That's the spirit! Even though the All-Stars cast is all buddy-buddy now, just wait until the first dance of the September 24 premiere. They'll all clap for whoever performs, but their minds will be factoring in the score and what it means for them. Let the games begin!

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
