Bones fans know that Brennan’s (Emily Deschanel) bestie Angela is played by the stunning and charming Michaela Conlin. Recently, Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with this brunette beauty at the FOX Teen Choice All Star Party — and she gave us some exclusive juiciness about what’s in store next season for both Angela and our favorite fugitive Brennan.
Wetpaint Entertainment: What can you tease about the first episode of the season? Michaela Conlin: We can it tease that flowers play a very pivotal role in it. It's so esoteric. I know.
What's the reaction of the rest of the crew when Bones takes off? Well, I think Angela’s still very much in the position of wanting. It's very much a carry-through from where we were at the end of the season. She's fighting to get her friend back, very much so. Actually Angela has a lot to do in the season opener — that's all I can say.
Anything you can tease about the rest of the season once we deal with this? I've heard that Angela and Hodgins have some stuff come up. We shot a bunch of episodes last season that are going air this season, that bring up a lot of issues with Angela's art and her feeling a little bit conflicted about giving that up to have a family. So I know that that's part of our arc for the season — I hope that’s still happening.
Is it a reaction to her becoming a parent and a grown up? Yes — I mean Angela was very resistant to take the job in the beginning. For people who have watched the show, they're aware that she didn't even want to work with dead bodies, and now she's in it full-fledged. She's married with a kid, and art is on the back burner — and I think in that episode, it really kind of brings a lot of stuff up. And I hear it's going to carry through the season.
