American Idol

What Was the Song Used to Introduce the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team at the 2012 Olympics?

Wondering who sings the song you heard in NBC’s introduction of the gold-winning U.S. women’s gymnastics team at the London Olympics? We’ve got your answer!

The song is “Home” by none other than American Idol Season 11 champ Phillip Phillips.

Phillip’s coronation song, “Home,” has already been given gold certification and continues to climb the charts. In fact, his tune is now back on the iTunes top ten thanks to the Olympics!

Here’s a look at the lyrics:

Hold on, to me as we go
As we roll down this unfamiliar road
And although this wave is stringing us along
Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

Settle down, it'll all be clear
Don't pay no mind to the demons
They fill you with fear
The trouble it might drag you down
If you get lost, you can always be found

Just know you’re not alone
Cause I’m going to make this place your home

“Home” is available on iTunes here. Phillip is expected to release his first album in November or December.
