Glee Season 4: Will Alex Newell’s Unique Transfer to McKinley High?

Update: FOX's first official promo for Season 4 confirms it. Unique is back!

Unique, played by Season 1 Glee Project runner-up Alex Newell, may have been the star performer of Vocal Adrenaline at Glee Season 3 Nationals, but that doesn’t mean she (or her plainclothes counterpart Wade Adams) ever really felt accepted at Carmel High.

After seeing how kind and accepting McKinley High students Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) were to Unique at Nationals, Wade suggested that Unique might consider transferring to McKinley for the next school year.

So will she? We still haven’t heard any confirmation of the transfer, but we do know that Alex is going to have a bigger role in Glee Season 4. So unless Glee is planning to travel to Carmel High school almost every week like they did when Kurt and Blaine (Darren Criss) were at Dalton, we’d day there’s a pretty good chance that Unique is going to transfer.

Plus, Glee already has to split the show between McKinley and New York City this year. Adding yet another location just seems confusing.

On top of that, Alex tweeted on August 9, “I love @littlelengies sooooooooo much!!!! Apple of my life!!!” Of course, he and Vanessa Lengies (Sugar) might just be hanging out together off-set, but we’d say it’s also possible that whatever prompted Alex’s tweet happened during Glee rehearsals in the McKinley choir room.

The New Directions are in desperate need of new members this year. Surely they’d love to have someone as talented as Unique on board.
