Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra Will Step In and Adopt Catelynn’s Brother

Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra gave their adorable daughter up for adoption, but now they might be teen parents again — to Cate's younger brother, Nicholas!

Nick currently lives with Catelynn's mom, April, and his older sis is determined to keep him away from their mother's struggles with alcoholism — not to mention her abusive relationship with Tyler's dad, Butch.

“If my mom derails again, I will step in and adopt my brother,” Catelynn tells In Touch. “I pretty much saw my mom drunk almost every day. I had to grow up really fast.”

Luckily, Butch is in prison for violating his parole and abusing April, but Cate is worried that her mom's emotional dependency on alcohol could be an even bigger issue.

“I know that my mom loves her children,” Catelynn says. “But when it comes to addict parents, sometimes they love their drug or their alcohol more than they love their children.”

If Child Protective Services finds out that April is using again, they could step in and take Nicholas away from her — something Catelynn is determined to prevent.

“I’m not gonna let my brother get harmed, and we wouldn’t let him go to foster care if things get crazy," she says. "He would come and live with us. If I noticed him being neglected, I would step in — no question.”

Catelynn is clearly a great mother-figure to Nicholas, but let's hope April gets her act together and is able to provide for her son. You can do it, lady!

What do you think? Should Catelynn adopt her brother? Weigh in below!
