Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 Spoiler: Mark’s Departure Will Involve a Lot Of…

Ever since we found out Eric Dane will be leaving Grey's Anatomy at the beginning of Season 9, we've been desperate to know everything we can about Mark's exit.

While the cast and crew have been keeping a pretty tight lid on what exactly will happen, there have been some hints dropped here and there. Most recently, Chandra Wilson (Miranda Bailey) spilled a couple of details to E!.

"I really appreciate the way that we have taken care of him in the beginning of the season," Chanda dished. "We get to stroke him a lot in the beginning of our season."

Does she mean the cast is literally sitting there stroking Mark? If so, that's not a good sign for his longevity — to us, it conjures up images of people stroking his hand and petting his hair as he struggles with life threatening injuries. (We're also imagining ourselves crying buckets of tears...)

Chandra notes that gone does not mean forgotten, claiming that "we just talk about him all the time!"

Chandra has also called Mark's exit "beautiful." Do you agree that all signs are pointing towards his death, or do you think there's still hope he could survive?

Grey’s Anatomy Season 9 will premiere on Thursday, September 27 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
