Phillip Phillips and Other American Idol Season 11 Alums Reveal Why They Auditioned for the Show (VIDEO)
With auditions underway for Season 12 of American Idol, the Top 10 contestants from Season 11 are sharing why exactly each of them tried out for the show.
In this new video, the alums talk about what gave them the extra push they needed to audition for the show.
Phillip Phillips: “My family and my friends made me audition, and I’m glad they did …” Erika Van Pelt: “It was a mix between my family and certainly my friends.” Elise Testone: “I was ready to share my gift with more people.” Heejun Han: “For the kids with special needs, and I just want them to know, and I just wanted to prove to them that if you really, really want something and if you really, really believe in it, you can becoming something.” DeAndre Brackenstick: “Last year just wasn’t what I wanted. You know, I wasn’t ready, so this year I’m ready.” Hollie Cavanagh: “Jennifer [Lopez], Steven [Tyler], and Randy [Jackson] actually kind of inspired me to try out again because of after the comments they said and after everyone kind of supported me and tell me to come back that really helped.” Colton Dixon: “I didn’t have a choice this year to audition… They made me sing. I sang, and here I am.” Skylar Laine: “It’s just something’s always been in the way, and now I finally get to audition, and I’ve always loved music of course, obviously.” Joshua Ledet: “Ever since watching it from a little boy, I always questioned myself why can’t that be me on stage doing the same thing those people are doing? I think I just went for my dreams.” Jessica Sanchez: “My family inspired me to come here … and just my love of singing.”
