Grant Gustin NOT Playing Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

So... this is turning into the most depressing day ever.

Fresh off a confirmation last night that Glee charmer Grant Gustin (Sebastian) hasn’t yet been asked back for Season 4, we’ve now learned that the 22-year-old won’t be playing Finnick in The Hunger Games, either.

The (former?) Warbler has made no secret about his desire to play dashing tribute Finnick, who will first appear in next year’s Hunger Games sequel, Catching Fire. Plenty of Glee fans were instantly sold on the idea, and Grant crushed nearly every single competitor in our Wetpaint Entertainment poll of which star fans hoped to see in the role of Finnick.

However, The Hollywood Reporter just announced that British actor Sam Claflin has been cast in the role. Sam played the role of William in Snow White and the Huntsman, and Philip on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Sam seems awesome, for sure. But he’s just. Not. Grant.
