Glee’s Damian McGinty Starts His Own Record Label

Is Damian McGinty about to become the next Jay-Z?

Damian won’t be returning to Glee as Rory Flanagan, [Update: except for the Season 4 Thanskgiving episode], but he’s not one to sit around and sulk. The Irish cutie is starting a new chapter in his life by launching a record label, which he will run with his business partner and best friend Oran O’Carroll. Now it will be Damian’s turn to decide who makes it in the business!

The record label is called Walled City Records, and their hope is to find local talent from Derry, Ireland, where Damian grew up. “It is going to be great for young and upcoming bands and artists in Derry and even Ireland,” explains Oran. And they’ve already signed their first artist: singer-songwriter Darrell Coyle, who is also from Derry. Derry pride!

This is in addition to a recording studio in Derry that Damian and Oran launched in June. Damian even flew back to Ireland to perform with Darrell for the studio’s grand opening celebration. Sounds like the guy is keeping mighty busy, Glee or no Glee!
