Watch: Glee’s Darren Criss is Back at Hogwarts! StarKid Reunites for Third and Final Harry Potter Spoof

Before Darren Criss (Blaine) ever rose to fame on Glee, the University of Michigan grad had already made quite a name for himself on YouTube, starring as Harry in the 2009 spoof A Very Potter Musical with his college pals, StarKid.

StarKid followed up with A Very Potter Sequel in 2010, and they’ve been hoping to finish up the trilogy with one more Potter play ever since. But with Darren working on Glee full time in Los Angeles, and the rest of their friends graduated and spread out across the country, it looked like a third Potter spoof might never come to be.

However, all of that changed at the Harry Potter fan convention LeakyCon on August 9-12. Nearly every former member of StarKid returned for one last performance a read-through of the brand-new A Very Potter 3D: A Very Potter Senior Year.

Though the performance was taped, it likely won’t be up on YouTube for a while. So to help hold us over until then, Tumblr’s Storyboard blog has put together a behind-the-scenes teaser of everything that went down.

Yes, you will see Darren put on that Hogwarts school uniform one last time. But... his hair looks a bit different than we remember. Odd.

Fan favorites like Lauren Lopez (in her blonde Draco wig) and Joey Richter (sans wig, but still wearing that signature headband) also make appearances in the vid. There are even clips of Darren singing “Going Back to Hogwarts.”

Seriously: Grab the Red Vines, hug a giant chocolate bar, and prepare to want to go curl up in a sock drawer and sleep for days. This is StarKid’s last Potter performance ever, and that fact alone makes just basically want to bawl our eyes out.
