Evan Rachel Wood Attacked by Miley Cyrus Fans Over “Gay” Haircut Joke
Poor Miley Cyrus.
All she wanted to do was cut a few inches of hair and enjoy her new pixie cut. Instead, she’s inspired endless debates, analysis on what her haircut “means,” and now, a celebrity Twitter attack.
Eccentric (and recently engaged) starlet Evan Rachel Wood reportedly tweeted, “I called it! Miley Cyrus is leaning toward gay,” after seeing Miley’s new ’do, according to The Huffington Post. (Evan has since deleted the tweet.)
Evan, who is openly bisexual, must not have realized how jokes on Twitter sound to Miley’s millions of fans. The 24-year-old former True Blood star got so much backlash from Miley fanatics that she decided to write a series of apologetic tweets yesterday (August 23).
“I myself am bisexual and have always ‘joked’ about miley giving me gay vibes. Not a bad thing! Just an observation,” she wrote. And, “So i ‘joked’ when she cut her hair that it supported my case. But, i am not so close minded or into stereotypes or labeling. It was a joke.”
Miley, for her part, is unfazed by the insinuation. She replied on Twitter to say "Well said!" then "Let's be friends" and "Follow me." Evan accepted the invitation, writing, “Now @Mileycyrus and i are friends. Let this be a lesson to all of you ;)”
We guess the lesson is not to underestimate the power of Disney fans to defend their stars!
