Nicki Minaj’s American Idol Deal Hurt by Relationship With Artist Management Company: Report

Another day, another bout of drama surrounding Nicki Minaj’s potential addition to the judging line-up for American Idol Season 12.

Last time, rumor had it that Mariah Carey was pretty ticked off about the reported addition of Nicki to the show, and now it seems her estranged relationship with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) is becoming an issue for the showrunners.

According to the New York Post, Nicki used to be represented by CAA but gave the agency the boot last year. But becaquse CAA represents a lot of the Idol finalists, as well as host Ryan Seacrest, it’s reportedly something of a problem for the show.

“If she hadn’t fired them last year, this deal would have been a lot easier,” an insider told the publication. Sources say Nicki is still in talks to join the show, but that this situation is causing some “heated debate.”

Nicki is certainly no stranger to speaking her mind. We have a feeling her candid nature would serve her well on the show!
