Back in February, Castle mastermind Andrew Marlow told TV Guide that his team was "in talks" about whether or not to bring the elusive Triple Killer (aka 3XK) back to our small screens before the end of Season 4.
Much to our dismay, the serial murderer did not make his triumphant return — he was, however, alluded to in "Kick in the Ballistics" — but that doesn't mean he won't pop up again in Season 5.
"It's something that we might wait and make more of a meal of next year," Marlowe revealed earlier this year.
And now, thanks to a new scoop from TVLine, we have a pretty good feeling that Marlowe and company are indeed cooking up some juicy 3XK drama for November sweeps.
"Be on the lookout for a big twist involving the return of [spoiler]," the teaser reads.
The last we heard, 3XK had sold Detective Ryan's gun to Phillip Lee, the dude who killed college student Jane Herzfeld in "Kick in the Ballistics." Phillip claimed to have pertinent info about 3XK — which he offered the team in exchange for a lighter sentence — but they shot him down.
“We’ll get 3XK and we’ll do it right,” Castle said at the end of the episode.
