Did Nate Really Kill Maya on Pretty Little Liars?

The Pretty Little Liars Season 3 summer finale (Season 3, Episode 12: “The Lady Killer”) was full of twists and turns, and by the end fans were left trying to parse out what we did and didn't learn.

One question on a lot of fans' minds is if Nate AKA Lyndon James really killed Maya (Bianca Lawson). It was heavily implied in the episode that he murdered her out of jealousy after she spurned him, but he never actually said the words "I killed Maya." This left some fans speculating that he was actually innocent of that crime.

Before you start spinning a major conspiracy theory, you should hear what PLL writer Bryan Holdman has to say about Maya's murderer.

When a fan asked Bryan "So just to be clear---- Nate killed maya right!?" he replied "Absolutely. Nate was Maya's stalker from Tru North and he killed Maya."

He went on to explain that Nate killed Maya because "he was jealous. Maya broke it off at True North because she really loved Emily." He added, "She was laying low at Noel's to avoid Nate... But he finally caught up with her. :0("

And, for the record, Nate was also not part of the "A" team — he's just a "freelance" psycho stalker. So there you have it. For once, things are exactly how they seem Rosewood.

Catch the PLL Halloween special on Tuesday, October 23 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC Family.
