She tells People that the contempt of court charge stemmed from a child support issue with her mom, who raised June’s 18-year-old daughter, and that both it and the theft charge were later dismissed.
But that’s not all. Child protection authorities in Georgia investigated the Shannon family earlier this year after a controversial double-whammy: TLC aired the notorious “go-go juice” scene — in which June’s then-6-year-old daughter Alana downs a mix of Mountain Dew and Red Bull — in a March episode of Toddlers and Tiaras, and then a video of Alana dancing on a bar bubbled up online.
“It was the worst four days of my whole entire life,” June recalls, though she adds that the bar footage was part of “a meet-and-greet at a concert.” Protective services never filed any charges.
As for the caffeinated concoction, June assures Ryan Seacrest, “That was a one time and one time only thing.”
We know it’s wrong to give your kid a mega-unnatural energy boost, but we’ll admit we’ve watched the “go-go juice” scene at least 20 times. A caffeinated kid makes for good television.
