The show's 11th season starts this Monday, September 3 (check here for your local time and channel) and Celebrity Week will run from September 17-21. To honor World Alzheimer's Day — which is Friday, September 21 — this celebrity edition will benefit the Alzheimer’s Association.
According to a press release (via TV by the Numbers), several celebrity contestants won more than $1 million last season for various charities. In addition to Tony, other new participating celebs include Oscar winner Mo’Nique, chef Paula Deen, comedian Cheech Marin and TV star Jackée. (Cheech has already won Celebrity Jeopardy a couple of times, so hopefully Tony has been studying and will do equally well. You don't want to get “smoked” by that guy!)
Millionaire is also planning to celebrate ABC's General Hospital by hosting cast members who will also play for charity. There are no details on that yet, but hopefully they'll pick DWTS All-Stars contestant Kelly Monaco to follow Tony as the next rep for Season 15.
Good luck, Tony! If you need to Phone-A-Friend, we’re here for you.
