Aviva Drescher Admits She “Went Overboard” on RHONY, But She’s Still Angry With Ramonja

Aviva Drescher is the first to admit that she “went overboard” on The Real Housewives of New York Season 5, Episode 14: “Slutty Island.” In fact, that’s exactly how she opened her blog on the episode.

To read about Aviva’s big “white trash” moment with Ramona Singer and Sonja Morgan, click here. To summarize, Aviva went through an enormous ordeal just to join the rest of the girls chez Carole in St. Barts. But Ramona and Sonja were disappointed that she brought her husband, deciding (in spite of Carole Radziwill’s invitation to both Aviva and Reid) that it was a “girls week.”

Aviva was incredibly upset with the poor reception, and in a surprise twist, Ramona showed pretty decent character by apologizing and not speaking out of turn again. That is, after she shouted for all of St. Barts to hear, that Aviva should take a Xanax.

Aviva says in her blog that she had specifically asked Ramona if she had a problem with Reid coming, and Ramona assured her she didn’t. This helps to explain Aviva’s blow-up. She also explains that her initial reaction to finding out Ramonja were plotting Reid’s evacuation made her “irate,” wondering why no one called her to tell her that Reid should stay in a hotel.

In the end, Aviva admits that name-calling was the wrong move. “I regret that I called Ramona and Sonja ‘white trash.’” But she defends her anger even now.

Reid is my husband and the father of my four children,” she writes, “and he had just flown me to St. Barths for a silly ‘girls' trip.’ And my ‘friends’ were planning on asking him to leave? Unacceptable.”
