Of course, there are plenty of ways that Ryder could be an inspiration, but there’s one idea we just can’t seem to shake from our minds. Back on the night of The Glee Project finale, Ryantweeted, “Writing such a great role for the winner! And just wait until you see who they are dating...”
Are we the only ones wondering if Blake’s new love interest just might be a guy?
Blake himself isn’t gay, and we know full well that he was chosen to be on Glee, in part, tofill a void of a masculine jock character in the glee club, now that so many of them graduated last season. However, none of these details mean that Blake’s character can’t be gay.

Can you imagine what a powerful storyline that could be: A popular, friendly (also: very attractive) football jock at McKinley — who just so happens to like guys instead of girls? Glee is all about breaking down stereotypes, and this new character for Blake, as unexpected as it might be for Glee Project fans, would provide the perfect opportunity to do just that.
When Kurt and Finn firstbecame step brothers back in Season 2, their relationship had some rocky parts. Understanding his new brother’s sexuality wasn’t easy for Finn, and he definitely lashed out in anger a couple of times.
Now that Finn has been through that experience and seemingly emerged more mature, aware, and caring because of it, he now has a unique set of experiences that could allow him to be a mentor to a young high school boy — who is both a successful sports star and just so happens to be gay.
Of course, there is no guarantee that Glee will even choose to go this route with Blake’s new character, Ryder. It’s simply an intriguing bit of speculation based off of a very vague tweet. But what would you think of the idea if they did?
Do you love the idea of Blake’s character taking a turn from the expected and delving not such complex and emotional territory, or were you hoping for a character much closer to the real-life guy we met on The Glee Project this season?
