The Bachelorette’s Jef Holm Reveals Details of His Multi-Million Dollar Confidentiality Contract

We all know that ABC runs a very tight ship. Bachelors, Bachelorettes, and rose-hungry contestants are surprisingly good at keeping the details of their romantic escapades under wraps until airtime — an especially difficult feat with social media making secrecy ever-the-more scarce. It makes us wonder what kind of terrifying conditions Bachelor producers include in their contracts use to keep everyone so quiet. First born child? Vital organs? Indentured servitude to Jake Pavelka?

Bachelorette winner Jef Holm recently opened up to Utah Valley magazine, sharing the details of his seven-figure nondisclosure agreement with ABC, and it shed some light on how serious ABC guards the secrecy the show’s results.

When people would ask me if I won, I would just say ‘I can’t tell you. You’ll have to watch it.’ I was under contract — I think it was for $5 million — that if anything came out or leaked because of me, I was liable. After about a week, I got pretty good at deflecting the question.

We’re impressed that Jef could keep his cool under pressure, considering how crazy in love he is with his fiance Emily Maynard — but at the risk of being sued for five million dollars, we’d become pretty good at keeping a poker face, too!
