American Idol’s Colton Dixon Snags Record Deal, Readies New Single

From the moment he was voted off of American Idol, Season 11 standout Colton Dixon made it clear he’d be recording a Christian music album someday, and now it looks like he’ll be doing just that!

Colton announced via YouTube that he has signed with EMI Christian Music Group’s Sparrow Records (which also works with Season 5’s Mandisa Hundley) and that fans should expect an album from him soon.

Colton’s been performing his first new song, “Never Gone”, throughout the American Idols Live! summer tour, and he announced that the track will hit iTunes on September 25th. He teased, “I cannot wait for you guys to hear the studio version, it sounds so good.”

The next new Colton song, called “You Are” which he described as a “worship song” he spent a year and a half working on is expected to drop soon as well. “Man, I’m just thrilled that it’s going on the album let alone being my first single,” he gushed.

Congrats, Colton!
