Did Lindsay Lohan Audition to Be Tom Cruise’s Wife?

Rumors have been circulating for a while that in 2004, the Church of Scientology “auditioned” a number of women, including Nazanin Boniadi, for the role of Tom Cruise’s wife before he met Katie Holmes. The list of ladies who were reportedly potential brides for the Mission: Impossible star includes Jennifer Garner, Sofia Vergara, Erika Christensen (who is also a Scientologist), and Jessica Alba, according to the New York Post.

A recent Vanity Fair article describes Nazanin’s alleged in-depth audition process, and its author, Maureen Orth, claims Lindsay Lohan and Scarlett Johansson were both vetted, as well. According to RumorFix, the article states: “Lindsay met with Tom before he met Katie. At first, she was super excited to work with Tom and thought it was about a role in Mission: Impossible. It soon became clear that he wasn’t looking for an actress but something very different.”

Lindsay leapt to defend herself — and Tom — against the accusations, tweeting, “I just want everyone & @TomCruise to know, that I have/had NO part in the VF story.. Nor has anyone in my life, personal and work related.”

According to the Huffington Post, Lindsay’s father, Michael Lohan, also denied the claims, saying, “Tom has never called me to ask for her hand in marriage.”

Lindsay, who’s now 26, would’ve only been 18 or 19 at the time (and 24 years Tom’s junior), so let’s hope the stories aren’t true.
