DWTS’ Peta Murgatroyd Talks Gilles Marini & Her New Relationship With Maksim – Exclusive
Reigning Dancing With the Stars champion Peta Murgatroyd is going to have a lot of fun during this upcoming season of All-Stars (premiering September 24). Not only is she dating the impossibly handsome Maksim Chmerkovskiy, but she is also dancing with the impossibly handsome Gilles Marini. How can she handle so much hotness? Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the Australian dancer at InTouch Weekly’s Icons & Idols party in Los Angeles on Thursday, September 6, to get the scoop.
Wetpaint Entertainment: You’re with Gilles on DWTS. How’s that going? Peta Murgatroyd: It’s going so well. I’m having a blast with him. I couldn’t really ask for a better partner. I didn’t think I could get anyone better than Donald but, this guy’s really really talented, so I’m lucky.
Tell us about rehearsals. We’ve got Foxtrot first and he’s pretty smooth. He’s a dream to work with.
Any way he can improve? Oh, of course. Technique-wise, everyone can always improve. No celebrity has been picture perfect so I’m always hammering him on his technique and making sure he doesn’t look down. That’s one of his biggest downfalls is looking down.
Are you guys under pressure? The show starts Sept. 24. For sure. I want to get as much done as I can before the season starts. It’s going to be grueling, competitive, and tough.
Will you have him take his shirt off this season? Probably, yeah! He’s got a great body. I think I’ll make him take it off.
I was talking to Maks and he was telling me you are a wonderful woman. Oh, he was! [Laughs] That’s nice!
So what do you have to say about Maks? Well, he’s amazing and I’m very fortunate to have met him and to be with him right now. I look forward to our future together. I think it’s going to be amazing. He’s an amazing person, inside and out.
Wow. Do you think marriage might be a possibility? I wouldn’t say no. [Laughs] Let’s leave it at that.
Where do you keep your DWTS trophy from last season? It’s in New Jersey, where Maks and I live, back in New Jersey.
On a shelf? Yeah. It’s in a glass case. Nobody can touch it.
