Channing Tatum Died in a Snowboard Accident? Nope! Actor Debunks Crazy Hoax

Oh, Internet! You can be such a mean little poop sometimes.

On Saturday, the “Global Associated News” posted a story headlined "Actor - Channing Tatum Dies In Snowboard Accident":

"Actor Channing Tatum is reported to have died shortly after a snowboard accident earlier today [originally posted as September 8, 2012 but now as September 9.] The actor & novice snowboarder was vacationing at the Zermatt ski resort in Zermatt, Switzerland with family and friends. Witnesses indicate that Channing Tatum lost control of his snowboard and struck a tree at a high rate of speed. Channing Tatum was air lifted by ski patrol teams to a local hospital, however, it is believed that the actor died instantly from the impact of the crash. The actor was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident and drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in his death."

This bad joke/hoax was apparently believed by enough people that Channing himself felt compelled to tweet "On set in Montreal. Alive and well. :-)"

Glad to hear he’s alive and well — and sorry to give more attention to the people who create these hoaxes, but it's just another lesson about not believing everything you read. Never wander the Internet alone, kids!
