Dancing With The Stars

Kelly Monaco: DWTS Is Like “Slitting Your Wrist and Bleeding All Over Everybody”

Kelly Monaco sounds like she's preparing for battle — she's already launching pre-emptive strikes against the Dancing With the Stars judges and protecting herself from any emotional shrapnel.

Kelly told Zap2it she's still acting on General Hospital through Season 15 All-Stars, so it's not like she's putting all her career eggs in this one basket. She also said the DWTS judges are just "three opinions out of all America," and "I really don't care if they think I suck." She also said it doesn't matter if she falls on her face as long as she tried.

"It takes a lot of courage to get out there," Kelly added to Zap2it. "It's really like slitting your wrist and bleeding all over everybody. You're really vulnerable, you're putting yourself in the most vulnerable position and that in itself is commendable. Everything else is an experience."

Kelly's probably right to hedge her bets a little bit, since she's the original winner of DWTS who had her thunder (and trophy?) stolen away from her after the fan vote Dance-Off. Her pro partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, is working hard to get redemption for her, but you can never be too careful or feel too comfortable on this show!

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
