Glee Season 4 Music Spoilers: Why Is Blaine Singing “It’s Time” to Kurt?
Blaine’s (Darren Criss) songs to Kurt(Chris Colfer) on Glee are pretty much the best thing ever, aren’t they? Take Blaine and the Warblers singing goodbye to Kurt with “Somewhere Only We Know” during Season 2. Amazing. Now we’ll soon have another stellar song-as-encouragement to add to that list!
We’ve known from previous promos that Blaine will be singing “It’s Time” by Imagine Dragons in theSeason 4 premiere, and now their are even more details about the heartwarming number. Hollywood.com reports that the couple will first have a very sweet talk, and then Blaine will surprise Kurt with an “over-the-top” performance of the song as a way of giving his blessing for Kurt to move to the Big Apple. All together now: Aww!
We’re not thrilled about the idea of Kurt and Blaine having to be apart from each other — but it’s clear that Kurt needs to be in NYC to chase his dreams, so it’s awesome that Blaine will express this in song. Departing Lima is such sweet sorrow.
And “It’s Time” is the perfect song to choose, since it’s about new beginnings and includes lines like “packing my bags” and “I don’t ever want to leave this town.” In fact, the only way the song would be more directly about flying to a new city would be if it had a line about how the white zone at an airport is for the immediate loading and unloading of passengers only. (Seriously, people — there’s no parking in the white zone. And don’t you forget it.)
