Amber is making the most out of her stint in the click, and is determined to better herself and turn her life around. Not only has Amber shed a whopping 25 pounds thanks to her new fitness regime (get it, girl!), she's also been taking parenting classes. So, what does this gal do in her free time? Sing in the jail's choir!
"She’s lost a lot of weight by staying active and even though the guards and inmates try to pick fights, Amber is staying out of trouble and spending time each day writing a book about her life," Her mom, Tonya, tells The Daily Mail.
''Now, instead of fighting and taking drugs, Amber is heavily into the jail choir and practices every day with them. She is loving it and hopes one day Leah will come and watch her perform."
Tonya says that prison is helping Amber "turn her life around," and hopes that she'll finally regain custody of Leah when she gets out — which could be in as little as two-and-a-half years!
"We’re already looking at getting her sentence cut in half for good behavior and once she gets out Amber wants to help rehabilitate other teen moms with similar problems to finally use her fame for good,' Tonya says.
In other news, prepare your bodies. Amber and her orange jumpsuit are coming to a small screen near you. According to Tonya, MTV has contacted Maci, Catelynn, Farrah and Amber about "Where Are They Now" specials, and Amber may film from prison.
“Her film crew from MTV loves her and feels so bad she’s behind bars that they send weekly care packages to Amber in prison filled with special foods and personal hygiene items," Tonya says.
Fingers crossed that MTV can convince Amber's warden to allow cameras into her cell — we'd love a first-hand glimpse at her life in jail!
