Breaking Down the Once Upon a Time Season 2 Promo: What Do We Learn?

The new Once Upon a Time Season 2 promo is so jam-packed with good moments, that we couldn't resist inspecting it closely (by which we mean watching it an unreasonable number of times). Here's what we can learn about the new season by breaking the promo video down scene by scene.

Read spoilers at your own risk! For more on Wetpaint Entertainment's philosophy on spoilers, click here.

Snow reunites with the dwarves: We've already seen Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) reunite in Storybrooke now that they have their memories back, and this promo gives us a glimpse of Snow with the dwarves. Aww.

"What do we do now?" We see Grumpy (Lee Arenberg) say "the curse is broken." Red (Meghan Ory) asks "so what do we do now?" Good question. What do the townsfolk do now that they have their memories?

Regina uses magic: We see Regina (Lana Parrilla) use magic on a crowd of people at her house, causing them to gasp and duck. Before she does it, we hear her say "Here. She. Is." Perhaps she says something along the lines of "You're looking for the Evil Queen? Then here she is." Right now, we're assume this scene is connected to the mob that goes after Regina. Later in the promo we see more people running at Regina; she sweeps them aside with magic.

The Charmings take action: Snow/Mary Margaret asks "what's happening?" and Charming says "let's find out." This looks like it happens right after the magic cloud sweeps over the town.

Havock: We also see Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and the Charmings caught in what looks like an earthquake; later they seem to be in a building on fire; even later the Charmings look out of a glass door onto an intense storm.

Mr. Gold's medallion: Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) drops some sort of medallion in a very dramatic shot early in the promo. We're not sure what it is, but we assume it's significant — especially because it's shown right as the voiceover is saying "and evil" in the phrase "in the battle of good and evil." We also see him holding the Dark One knife, and it still says Rumplestiltskin.

Gold vs. Belle: Speaking of Gold/Rumplestiltskin, later in the promo we see him angrily tell Belle (Emilie de Ravin), "I will not let this stand." In return, she pleads, "promise me you won't give into your hate." Our guess is that Regina locking Belle up is what Mr. Gold doesn't want to let stand. Will Belle influence him towards doing good, or will the darkness within him triumph?

Mr. Gold smashing his shop: Late in the promo, we see Mr. Gold take his cane to one of the displays in his shop. Why? Do we think it's connected to the medallion? Or what about Captain Hook stealing his hook back, which we've seen in a previous promo, and get a glimpse of again here?

Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, and Prince Philip: We get our first shots of Mulan (Jamie Chung) in action, and she looks great. It looks like she might be hanging out with Sleeping Beauty (Sarah Bolger) in one shot, which makes sense given that we know Mulan sets out to helpPrince Philip (Julian Morris) find Sleeping Beauty. Later in the promo we see Prince Philip waving a torch in the dark, and Sleeping Beauty running through the woods.

The wolf is back: More flashbacks for Red, perhaps? That would make sense, since Meghan Ory is a series regular now.

More young Regina: We see young Regina riding a horse at full speed through the woods. Is she running away? There's also a shot of Rumpelstiltskin smiling at a woman who's back is to the camera. It looks like it's young Regina, based on her hair and earring. We're guessing these shots are from Season 2, Episode 2: “We Are Both,” which is supposed to feature Regina and Rumple meeting for the first time.

The voiceover: For the record, here's what the voiceover says in full: "In the battle of good versus evil, there's a new weapon. Magic is coming to the town of Storybrooke, and there's no telling what will be unleashed."
