The Voice Season 3: Contestant Bryan Keith Reflects on His Four-Chair Turn and Choosing Adam Levine

On last night’s premiere of The Voice Season 3, only one contestant’s performance inspired all four judges chairs to turn.

Bronx, N.Y. native Bryan Keith impressed Adam, Blake, Cee Lo, and Christina with his rendition of Bruno Mars’s “It Will Rain,” and his sultry sound earned him a spot on Team Adam.

When Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with the 22-year-old the day after his performance aired, he still seemed to be in shock.

“I couldn’t believe it when it happened,” Bryan said. “It just felt like I needed them to turn around for me so badly.”

And to his surprise, all four judges turned. But when the time came for Bryan to make a decision, he almost went against his initial choice.

“I went in there wanting Adam the entire time, and for a split second I almost went with Christina because she was trying to tell me she would stick up for me until the bitter end,” he admitted. “Then I really started contemplating joining Cee Lo’s team because I could tell he really felt me a lot.”

But the singer ultimately stuck with his gut and picked the Maroon 5 frontman.

“I went with [Adam] because he really pushed me to prove myself,” Bryan said. “I liked that he didn’t press his button for me right away. That made me want to be with him even more. We have a really cool connection, and I think we relate to each other very well.”

Hopefully their connection will get Bryan through the battle rounds — or maybe he’ll get snatched up by another coach!
