Dancing With The Stars

Will Gilles Marini’s Strange Foot Injury Hurt His Chances on DWTS All-Stars? (VIDEO)

Someone needs to keep Gilles Marini in a protective bubble! Before the Dancing With the Stars
All-Star partnerships were even named, Gilles said he had been taking dance lessons and his knees were “done.” Last month, he said he “hurt something already” and speculated that it was the MCL.

We recently saw a photo of Gilles wearing a bandage around his right ankle while leaving DWTS rehearsal studios. But that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the strange foot injury that led him to have surgery this summer. Gilles just talked about it with Access Hollywood, while promoting Season 15 with pro partner Peta Murgatroyd.

Gilles said he stepped on a sewing needle in his bedroom and broke his toe. (!) He said he had to fly to Colorado to find a doctor who could help him without severing a nerve. (!) He also said something in the video about having nerve damage to the side of his knee, which sometimes gives out. He rubbed his left knee when he said that. Too strange. Is he just trying to lower expectations so we aren’t surprised if he doesn’t come out with perfect routines right away? Or is he just accident prone? (And who has sewing needles just hanging out on the floor of their bedroom?!)

Injuries, aside, Gilles and Peta already look great together. Gilles said the first time he saw Peta was in their sexy promo photo shoot where “she wears pretty much nothing,” Gilles said. “I’m like, ‘It’s going to be a great season!’”

But Gilles has a wife and Peta has a boyfriend, fellow pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy. “Maks has been great,” Gilles said. “He actually has been coming to the rehearsal room quite a bit.” Worried about the hotness competition, Maks? Gilles said when Maks isn’t there, his brother Val Chmerkovskiy often is. So Peta’s life is just filled with sexy men. It’s tough to be the reigning champ!

Dancing With the Stars Season 15: All-Stars will premiere on Monday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Check out the full All-Stars cast list here.
